Former Sri Lanka all-rounder Dilhara Lokuhettige banned for 8 year from all cricket over corruption charges

The International Cricket Council found former Sri Lanka all-rounder Dilhara Lokuhettige guilty on all charges relating to a 10-over league in the United Arab Emirates.

Days after the International Cricket Council banned former Zimbabwe captain Heath Streak, former Sri Lanka all-rounder Dilhara Lokuhettige has been handed an 8-year ban due to corruption, the cricket body said on Monday.Lokuhettige, who played nine 9 One Day Internationals and 2 Twenty20 internationals for Sri Lanka, was charged with three counts of breaching the anti-corruption code of the ICC. The ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal found the bowling all-rounder guilty on all charges relating to a 10-over league in the United Arab Emirates. Article 2.1.1 - for being party to an agreement or effort to fix or contrive or otherwise influence improperly the result, progress, conduct or other aspect(s) of a match.
