The former general manager of the Big River Service Station in Fort Providence, N.W.T., has been charged with defrauding the business of more than $24,000.
An RCMP news release on Thursday says officers got a call about “potential fraudulent activity” at the gas station in April 2025.
It says that about a month after the call, there was a break-in at the store and police identified the 59-year-old woman from video surveillance.
Police say the former general manager is the main suspect in both the break and enter and fraud cases.
They say the business was defrauded of more than $24,000.
She has been charged with fraud over $5,000, and break and enter.
Police say they believe the woman has moved to Nova Scotia and there is a warrant out for her arrest.
