Florida man hits record 310.8 mph in street legal Ford — here’s how he did it
Fox News
Johnny Bohmer drove his modified 2006 Ford GT to 310.8 mph on the Space Shuttle landing strip to claim the record for world's fastest street legal car.
His Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds company rents the runway to provide testing services for automakers and parts manufacturers, and the occasional top speed run. "I failed for years at this, this 300 run." "I just get in the car and do it. I don’t think about it." Gary Gastelu is Fox News Digital's automotive editor.
Bohmer completed the feat in a 2006 Ford GT that he has been constantly modifying since he first picked it up from the dealer.
