Flight at Chennai airport suffers tyre burst

IndiGo flight at Chennai airport faces tyre burst, causing two-hour delay before departure to Mumbai.
An IndiGo flight at Chennai airport bound for departure to Mumbai suffered a tyre burst on Saturday (April 26, 2025) evening.
Around 4.45 p.m., as the flight left the bay, the pilot found that one of the tyres had burst and subsequently informed the air traffic control. Support team, engineers and officials of Airports Authority of India went to the spot and the aircraft was brought to the bay soon after.
After the tyre was changed, the aircraft left around 7 p.m. after about a two hour delay. “The main wheel of flight 6E 5104 operating from Chennai to Mumbai was changed due to deflation before taxing out, the flight departed post necessary maintenance. We deeply regret the disruption and truly appreciate our passengers’ patience and understanding,” IndiGo said, in a statement.
