A five-year-old girl was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Kerala's Thrissur district. Two others were injured in the elephant attack.
A five-year-old girl was trampled to death by an elephant in Kerala's Thrissur district. The wild tusker ventured into a residential area in Puthenchira, killing the girl and injuring two others.
On Monday, five-year-old Agnimiya and her family spotted the wild elephant close to their home. The family ran but the girl was attacked by the elephant. Her father Nikhil and another relative, Jayan, tried to rescue her and suffered injuries. The girl was trampled to death.
All three were taken to a private hospital in Chalakkudy. Agnimiya succumbed to her injuries before reaching the hospital.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
