The five Indian Navy personnel were part of a 20-member mountaineering expedition to Mt Trishul in Uttarakhand.

Five Indian Navy personnel, who are part of a 20-member mountaineering expedition to Mt Trishul in Uttarakhand, are missing after being caught in an avalanche.

The Indian Navy said search and rescue operations were on. Ground rescue teams and helicopters from Army, Air Force and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been pressed into action.
