Fire crews responded to a grass fire at Nose Hill Park in northwest Calgary Saturday, which caused damage to approximately two hectares of grass.
Paul Frederick, battalion chief with the Calgary Fire Department, says calls came in around 6:30 p.m. for reports of a grass fire on the hill.
He says 17 firefighters on seven trucks extinguished the fire, but crews will be on scene for a while to put out hot spots.
Frederick says 14th Street N.W. was temporarily closed to traffic due to smoke, but has since reopened.
There were no injuries reported and no structures damaged.
Frederick says the cause of the fire is to be determined.
