Fellow Dem Rejects Fetterman's Claim That There Isn't 'A Lot Of Dignity' In Prolonging GOP Fight

Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) reacted Monday to his colleague's assertion that Democrats should stop stalling on the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) disagrees with his colleague Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), who said there isn’t “a lot of dignity” in prolonging the fight against the GOP’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act by demanding more and more amendments and chipping away at its provisions.
“I disagree with him,” Kelly told CNN “News Central” anchor Brianna Keilar on Monday.
“There is always dignity in fighting for the American people, especially folks who are just trying to get by,” he continued. “I’ve talked to so many people in my state that are fearful of this, who have illnesses, who have adopted children, who are on Medicaid.”
The so-called Big Beautiful Bill is currently being debated in the Senate ahead of an arbitrary July 4 deadline imposed by President Donald Trump, and would cut some $930 billion from Medicaid, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.
Fetterman expressed that he was personally inconvenienced by the wrangling over the legislation — and told reporters Monday that he had missed an “entire trip to the beach” with his family.
