Feds scrap $600 million deal with Emergent BioSolutions, company that made contaminated J&J COVID vaccine

Washington — The federal government has canceled a $600 million deal with Emergent BioSolutions, a Maryland-based vaccine manufacturer with facilities in Baltimore that were found to have produced millions of contaminated Johnson & Johnson vaccine doses this spring.
Emergent disclosed the development Thursday in a filing ahead of releasing its latest earnings report.
Emergent said it will forgo about $180 million due to the contract's termination.
