Sachin Tendulkar opened the batting for India Legends on Thursday and scored 40 runs off 20 balls against England Legends with three fours and as many sixes.
Sachin Tendulkar retired from international cricket nearly nine years ago, but his hunger to score more and more runs hasn’t diminished by any stretch of the imagination.
The 49-year-old is currently taking part in the Road Safety World Series in Dehradun and he hasn’t flattered to deceive by any means. On Thursday, September 22, the Master Blaster took his team, India Legends, off to a flying start against England Legends.
After India Legends were put in to bat first at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Tendulkar started throwing the kitchen sink right from the word go.
He started his knock with a classy four off Stephen Parry through the backward square-leg region. In the third over, Tendulkar went completely berserk and smashed fast bowler Chris Tremlett for two sixes, followed by a four.
He also took the attack to pacer Rikki Clarke in the fourth over. Just when he seemed good to get to his half-century, Chris Schofield accounted for his wicket. Tendulkar gave a simple caught and bowled to the leg-spinner.
Tendulkar perished with India’s score at 67 for the loss of two wickets in 6.2 overs. Sachin got out after scoring 40 runs off 20 balls with the help of three fours and as many sixes.
