Fact Check: Who’s the ‘boss’ of the universe? Surely not this piece of art

A glittering image is being circulated on social media with the claim that it is a picture of the largest astronomical structure discovered so far. However, India Today found the claim to be misleading.

Most of us would probably be in the dark if we’re asked about the largest cosmic structure in the universe. But if a glittering image floating around on social media is to be believed, it is the largest astronomical structure discovered so far. And it is called the BOSS literally.

A Facebook user shared the image with the caption, “Meet the BOSS! The Largest Structure in the Universe (so far). Astronomers discovered a wall of galaxies 1 billion light years across, larger than anything else yet identified in the Cosmos.”
