According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Very heavy to extremely heavy rain is likely to continue in south peninsular India particularly Kerala, coastal Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu for the next two to three days.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Very heavy to extremely heavy rain is likely to continue in south peninsular India particularly Kerala, coastal Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu for the next two to three days.
Subdued rainfall activity over central parts of the country is likely to continue till August 4 and is expected to gradually increase thereafter.
The western end of the monsoon trough at mean sea level was lying north of its normal position and its eastern end was near its normal position.
The monsoon trough was very likely to be near normal or south of its normal position from August 5 onwards.
The IMD, in its weather bulletin, said, "Isolated extremely heavy rainfall also likely over Kerala and Mahe and adjoining Tamil Nadu during 2nd-4th; South Interior Karnataka on 3rd-5th and over Coastal Karnataka during 2nd-5th August, 2022."
Similar weather conditions will prevail over Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Kerala and Mahe till Saturday. Isolated very heavy rainfall is expected over south interior Karnataka on August 6.
