The Income Tax Department has sought disqualification of Shiv Sena MLA Yamini Jadhav over discrepancies in the election affidavit that she had filed for Maharashtra Assembly election held in 2019.

The Income Tax Department has sought disqualification of Maharashtra MLA from Byculla Yamini Yashwant Jadhav of the Shiv Sena over discrepancies in the election affidavit that she had filed for assembly election held in 2019. In its investigation, the Income Tax Department found discrepancies related to some transactions with a Kolkata-based shell company allegedly used to launder money to the tune of Rs 15 crore to Yamini Yashwant Jadhav, her husband Yashwant Jadhav, who is the chairperson of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)'s Standing Committee, and other family members.
