The incident took place on Tuesday. According to police, based on reliable intelligence input about the gathering of armed cadres of the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist) for carrying out subversive activities, a search and area domination operation was launched on Monday by Odisha police teams, comprising teams of Special Operation Group (SOG) and Malkangiri District Voluntary Force (DFV), in the bordering areas of Malkangiri and Koraput districts. On Tuesday, when the operational parties were combing the jungle area near Kulabeda village, sudden unprovoked firing came upon them from the Maoists, police said.More Related News
