Ex-RNC Spokesperson Spots Exactly How Trump Put GOP Lawmakers 'In A Pickle'

The Bulwark's Tim Miller declared that congressional Republicans are "carrying the biggest political brunt" of the issue.
Ex-Republican National Committee spokesperson Tim Miller on Tuesday argued that Donald Trump’s administration’s handling of the so-called Jeffrey Epstein files could plague his party through next year’s midterms and into 2027.
“Interestingly, they’ve handled it in such a way that ... the congressional Republicans, more broadly, are carrying the biggest political brunt because they don’t have the shield of Donald Trump,” added Miller, now with the anti-Trump conservative site The Bulwark, in an interview with MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace.
Miller said core Trump supporters aren’t sure whether to be “mad” at the president, questioning whether Attorney General Pam Bondi or congressional Republicans are at “fault” for failing to deliver on releasing files tied to the late convicted sex offender, those Trump promised to release on his 2024 campaign.
“And so what you have here is these congressional Republicans who just look so weak, like they’re not doing what they promised the voters they would do — like [House Speaker] Mike Johnson promised voters he would do — over and over again,” Miller said.
Miller said GOP lawmakers in Congress — a number of whom have been faced with constituents’ demands over the files in recent weeks — are “running away” from the Epstein saga at a time when Trump has continued to remain visible through appearances like his meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
