Eric Trump Calls The 2020 Election The 'Greatest Thing' To Happen To The GOP

"I think the Republican Party’s in the best spot it’s ever been in," the president's middle son said while promoting his new book, "Under Siege."
Eric Trump thinks the fallout from the 2020 election battle of his father, President Donald Trump, helped fortify the Republican Party in the long run.
“2020 was the greatest thing that ever happened to our party, by the way, as much as it hurt at the time,” he told comedian Adam Carolla during Tuesday’s episode of the comedian’s YouTube show.
“Because he’s just surrounded by killers who are doing a phenomenal job and, I don’t know, I think the difference between us and the Democrats is we’ll actually have a primary process,” Trump added, taking a dig at how President Joe Biden and his vice president, Kamala Harris, were both dubbed the Democrats’ 2024 presidential candidates without much of a formal process.
Trump praised Vice President JD Vance and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) as two of those “killers,” adding, “I think the Republican Party’s in the best spot it’s ever been in before.”
He told Carolla his father’s 2020 loss, which the president claims to this day was a sham, was key to firing up the right wing of the party, claiming, “I think politics is fundamentally changed because people enjoy the fight, people understand the issues, and it’s no longer a sideshow.”
