T20 World Cup 2021: Eoin Morgan won his 43rd match in the shortest format of the international game to become the most successful captain in men's cricket, surpassing MS Dhoni and Asghar Afghan who both won 42 games.
England's Eoin Morgan on Monday surpassed former India and Afghanistan captains MS Dhoni and Asghar Afghan as the most successful skippers of all time in men's T20 internationals. England's 26-run win over Sri Lanka was their 43rd under Morgan, thus helping him surpass Dhoni and Afghan who both had 42 wins.
The 35-year-old Morgan has led England to 41 outright wins thus far and two wins via Super Over. Dhoni also led India to 41 wins and one win via a bowl out while Afghan has 42 wins to his name. Afghanistan tied one match under Afghan, the third T20I against Ireland in March 2020, which they lost in the Super Over.
