Ailyn AgoniaDOHA A NUMBER of diplomats, in their messages, have expressed hope and optimism as Muslims across the world celebrate Eid Al-Fitr. As the global community grapples with the coronavirus pandemic for the second year, the officials also stressed the importance of cooperation of Qatar residents in the programmes of the host country aimed at safeguarding the lives and welfare of all. In his official statement on the occasion, Indonesian Ambassador HE Ridwan Hassan said, âOn the celebration of Eid Al-Fitr, I would like to wish all my brothers and sisters, Qataris and all residents in Qatar, Eid Mubarak. May the grace of Allah light up our heart with happiness and peace. After 30-days of Ramadan fasting and with the celebration of the Eid, I do hope we can become better Individuals. The celebration of Eid this year indeed is a very challenging one. This is the second year we live with the COVID-19 pandemic. It is definitely not easy. However, we donât have to lose our optimism and confidence for a brighter future.âThe envoy also stressed the commitment and support of the Indonesian community to the programmes of Qatar in the fight against COVID-19. Italian Ambassador HE Alessandro Prunas underlined the importance of adherence to the safety measures put in place by the Qatar government. The envoy said, âI hope this Eid will bring peace, prosperity and happiness to everyoneâs life. On this festivity that ends the Holy Month of Ramadan, allow me to wish you all happy holidays. In doing that, I would also like to remind everyone how important it is to follow the provisions that the government has put in place for our safety. It is very important that we follow very carefully these measures in order for this Eid to really bring us all, not just joy and love, but also all the opportunities for a full recovery and success after the difficult times we have been living in. Once again, I wish you peace, love, joy and prosperity and, of course, Eid Mubarak!âAmbassador of Mexico HE Graciela Gómez Garcia stressed the importance of solidarity and generosity at this time. The envoy said, âDuring my second Ramadan in Doha under COVID-19, our Qatari friends had taught me a wonderful lesson on human solidarity and generosity. Their willingness to sacrifice their own longing for family gatherings for iftars and suhours in order to contribute to a greater good -- protecting otherâs health and wellbeing. While I am aware of how challenging this Ramadan has been to all Muslims in Qatar and elsewhere, I am also appreciative of the endurance and resilience the holy month brings about to those who observe it. Now, Eid is a deserved moment to cheer and to laugh with all your heart; an occasion to be grateful for all the blessings we continue to have even at times things seem to be falling apart. Let this Eid bring fresh hope, a renewed spirit of human collaboration, and unexpected opportunities to be grasped with open minds and noble thoughts. Eid Mubarak!âMore Related News
