A heat warning is in place for London, Ont. and surrounding areas as temperatures are expected to rise above 30 degrees during a two-day heat event.
Environment Canada said in a statement it expects temperatures to reach 31 C with humidex values in the low forties Monday and Tuesday this week.
Temperatures are expected to cool down Tuesday night.
The warning extends to Parkhill and Eastern Middlesex County.
Extreme heat can be dangerous for people who do not take proper precautions, said Environment Canada.
Older adults, children, pregnant people and people with illnesses, disabilities or mobility issues face greater health risks.
Safety tips from Environment Canada include not leaving children and pets inside parked vehicles and drinking water before feeling thirsty.
