England's Jonny Bairstow has claimed that he isn't afraid of losing and is focused on putting the pressure on the opposition.

Jonny Bairstow has claimed that he is not afraid of failing as his twin hundreds powered England to a memorable win over India in the fifth Test on Tuesday.

Bairstow seems to be in the form of his life as he has already scored six hundreds in the year. The 32-year-old had earlier broken all sorts of records in the series against New Zealand and carried that momentum into the rearranged Test against India.

In the first innings, Bairstow played a crucial role in rebuilding the England innings as the hosts were in a spot of bother at stumps on Day 2. Chasing 378 runs to win the match, the wicketkeeper stitched together an incredible 269-run partnership with Joe Root to steer his team to their fourth consecutive successful 275 plus run chase and scored his second hundred of the game.

England vs India, 5th Test: Report | Highlights

Speaking at the presentation, after being adjudged the Man Of The Match, Bairstow said it is great fun at the moment. He acknowledged that the last few years have been tough for him, but is enjoying life in test cricket and thanked the people who turned up for the match.

"It is great fun at the moment. The last month has been fantastic for the lads and the smiles on their faces when everyone does well is a massive part of it. I am stripping it back to the basics. The last few years have been tough on me but the last few months have been fantastic. Fair play to everyone who went through that. To the crowd as well: Day five was over in 90 minutes," said Bairstow.

The 32-year-old continued by saying that he is not afraid of failing and is always looking to put pressure back on the opposition. He said that while England are bound to lose matches in the future, they are currently playing a positive brand of cricket.
