A report in a leading daily claimed that "England's cricketers face the prospect of not seeing their families for 4 months due to tight Covid-19 restrictions in Australia" when they tour abroad for the series in Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Australia later this year.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan urged his country's national team to reconsider going to Australia for the Ashes later this year if their family members are not allowed to tour with the players and support staff.
