The N.W.T. government has taken some water fixtures out of service at another school in the territory, due to elevated lead levels in the water.
In a news release on Tuesday evening, the government said testing at Harry Camsell School in Hay River found some fixtures had lead levels higher than recommended federal standards.
It says signage has been placed on all the affected fixtures and an alternative source of drinking water will be provided.
Once the plumbing has been fixed, more testing will be done to confirm the water meets health standards.
The testing at Harry Camsell School is part of a territory-wide school water testing program that prioritizes older schools with larger student bodies.
The territory intends to test drinking water at every school in the N.W.T. Earlier this month, the government said it will pay for drinking water at schools across the territory while it finishes testing.
