Tribune News NetworkDohaIn an atmosphere filled with joy, the activities of the first-ever Eid Festival, organised by Qatar Tourism, concluded on Thursday with great success after enthralling visitors for three days along the Doha Corniche.The events held within the framework of Qatar Tourism’s celebration of Eid Al Fitr included a number of diverse entertainment shows, including the giant balloon parade, which is the first of its kind in the region, concerts, food carts and kiosks, firework displays, and other well-received activities. The three-day festival saw unprecedented crowd participation, especially for fireworks and the giant balloon parade. Doha Corniche turned into a festival ground as vehicular movement was restricted and the area opened for pedestrians.The Doha Corniche has been designated for the three days of the festival, from 4pm to 11 pm, for pedestrians only, with a stretch of 1.4 km, where Qatar Tourism, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Public Works Authority, Ashghal, provided safe and successful celebrations.Doha Corniche street turned into a festival ground as vehicular movement was restricted and the area opened for pedestrians.Meanwhile, the curtain came down on Katara’s Eid Al Fitr activities after artistic success and huge public turnout throughout the days of Eid. The closing day witnessed the flock of thousands of visitors who came to enjoy the diversified entertainment programme prepared by Katara for its audience, including families, children, and other members of society.An atmosphere of joy prevailed in the streets of Katara with the continued distribution of Eidiya to children who were accompanied by their parents inside cars.The fireworks presented by Katara on the opening day of the activities of Eid Al Fitr caught the attention of the public, and the water games received a remarkable turnout from swimming enthusiasts who were keen to practice their hobbies in a family atmosphere that reflects the happiness of everyone spending the Eid holiday in this vital and distinguished facility, which is considered the most prominent Qatar’s leading entertainment destinations.Visitors to Katara expressed their happiness with the festive and entertainment programme on Eid Al Fitr.
