The Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned Nawab Malik's brother Kaptan Malik in connection with Dawood Ibrahim money laundering case, his family claimed on Thursday.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned Kaptan Malik, Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik's brother, in connection with Dawood Ibrahim money laundering case, his family said on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Nawab Malik's sister also reached the ED office on Thursday.
The ED's move comes a day after Nawab Malik was arrested in a money laundering case linked to the activities of the Mumbai underworld. Malik was then remanded to the ED’s custody till March 3.
The money laundering case pertains to Nawab Malik's alleged deal with aides of Dawood Ibrahim, sources said.
The ED was investigating a case registered against Dawood Ibrahim, his brother Anees, Iqbal, aide Chota Shakeel and others.
Last week, the ED started conducting searches at various locations across Mumbai for elements related to the underworld and Dawood Ibrahim.
The ED raids were in connection with the recently registered case against Dawood Ibrahim by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
