Tribune News NetworkDohaMore than 110,000 people have used COVID-19 drive-through vaccination centres in Lusail and Al Wakra, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has announced. The drive-through centre in Lusail opened on March 1, while the one in Al Wakra started operation on March 27. Together, they account for vaccinating nearly 8 percent of the people who have taken the jabs since the start of Qatarâs national vaccination campaign against COVID-19. So far, 1,394,781 people have been vaccinated, with nearly 40 percent of the adult population receiving at least one shot of the vaccine. Here are some steps one needs to keep in mind if you are heading to one of these centres:ï± Note that Ramadan opening hours are from 1pm to midnight, seven days a week. Last entry is usually at 11pm, however, please note at times of very high demand this may be earlier. ï± The centres cater only to people receiving their second dose. You will need to bring your vaccination card, showing the details of your first dose, to gain entry. ï± Those attending the drive-through must be in a vehicle to proceed for their vaccination â and with a maximum occupancy of four people per car. ï± You must wait until the due date for your second dose â 21 days after the first dose for Pfizer/BioNTech and 28 days after the first dose for Moderna. No second doses will be administered earlier. ï± People attending the drive-through centers are seen on a first-come-first basis. At peak hours, you may be required to wait while other people are seen first. For this reason, it is important to come prepared: ï¬ Bring a drink and small snack with you in case the wait is longer than expected ï¬ Bring a book to read or have something to listen to on your car stereo ï¬ If possible, avoid bringing young children who may get impatient with any potential delay. ï¬ Ensure that you have enough fuel in your car for the duration of your visit. ï¬ Plan your visit for when you know you do not have any important appointments within the next few hours.More Related News
