Drew Lock exits Giants’ preseason game vs. Lions in possible injury worry
NY Post
Drew Lock’s first game with the Giants ended quicker than expected.
In Exhibit A of why NFL coaches are terrified to play quarterbacks in the preseason and leave them subject to injury risk, Lock – who was starting the game in place of Daniel Jones – left Thursday’s game against the Lions in the first quarter after he was hit by Nate Lynn.
Lock got to his feet favoring his left side around the hip before heading to the sideline mid-drive.
He was designated “questionable” to return, but there is no reason to put him back into a preseason game.
Maybe it gives something for Daboll to think about before letting Jones play in either of the final two preseason games, even though Jones wants to play to finish off his return from a torn ACL last season.
Fan favorite Tommy DeVito came off the bench to replace Lock to a cheer from the sparse crowd at Metlife Stadium.
