Don McLean of 'American Pie' fame tells Fox News Digital, 'I did the right thing with my life'

Singer-songwriter Don McLean of 'American Pie' fame talked to Fox News Digital recently — sharing lessons learned about his career choice as well as his concerns for our country in 2022.
"American Pie" is in the Library of Congress National Recording Registry and was named by the Recording Industry of America (RIAA) a top 5 song of the 20th century. The Don McLean Foundation "supports soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and the Portland Maine Salvation Army, as well as other worthy recipients around the country."
McLean told Fox News Digital in a phone interview from his home in Maine that he had a lot of choices as a young man — and that following his passions as a singer and a musician, as risky as that was, also was "the right decision."
The singer-songwriter just kicked off a new world tour to celebrate the 50th anniversary of "American Pie." The tour will include more than 30 North American stops and an additional 35 shows in Europe in the fall.
