A hiker who chased their dog off of Flume Trail near Juneau, Alaska, on Sunday stumbled upon human remains believed to belong to a man who went missing in September. Investigators were unable to determine a cause of death due to the state of the remains.
Investigators said clothing consistent with what Farnsworth was wearing when he went missing was among the remains, along with a cell phone and firearm believed to have been in his possession.
"They did find some bones and his clothes and the gun and a phone," Farnsworth’s sister, Kiersten Farnsworth, told KTOO-TV. "So we can’t really determine how death was just because most of [his body] is missing."
