DMK ward member hacked to death by woman for opposing illegal sale of liquor

A woman killed a DMK ward member after he opposed her selling liquor illegally in her house. Police have initiated an investigation and are on the lookout for the accused.

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) ward member was killed by a woman on Monday in Naduveerapattu village in Tamil Nadu's Sriperumbudur for opposing her selling liquor illegally. Satish, 31, was allegedly hit with a machete on his head by Esther, who purportedly sold liquor in her house illegally.

After receiving several complaints about Esther, Satish confronted her and learned that she bought liquor from the state-run TASMAC ( The Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation) and sold it from her house, after which he filed a police complaint against Esther.

Later, Esther called Satish to her house on the pretext of having a conversation and attacked him. She dumped Satish's body near her house and fled the spot.

After seeing the body, neighbours informed the police. The police reached the spot and followed the blood trail leading to Esther's house.

Somangalam Police has initiated an investigation and is on the lookout for Esther.
