
DMK signs seat-sharing agreement with VCK for Tamil Nadu assembly elections

The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi has been allotted six seats which include Vanur, Kattumannarkoyil, Cheyyur, Arakkonam, Nagapattinam and Thirupporur.
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) have sealed a seat-sharing pact for the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly election. Formerly known as the Dalit Panthers of India, the VCK has been allotted six seats which include Vanur, Kattumannarkoyil, Cheyyur, Arakkonam, Nagapattinam and Thirupporur. The DMK has also given six seats each to the CPI and Vaiko's MDMK. The DMK that is eyeing a return to power in Tamil Nadu gave only 25 seats to the Congress despite relentless pressure from the latter and after an invitation from actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan to the grand-old-party to join his 'third front'.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
