Dinesh Karthik has evolved as finisher: RCB pacer Siddarth Kaul backs veteran to do well for India

Senior pacer Siddarth Kaul backed Dinesh Karthik to carry forward his form from IPL 2022 into the 5-match T20I series against South Africa, starting June 9.

India and Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Siddarth Kaul shed light on the role clarity that Dinesh Karthik had in the Indian Premier League with RCB, heaping praise on his evolution as a finisher in the shortest format of the game.

Dinesh Karthik, who had a forgettable season with Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021, was released by the 2-time champions. However, the Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper-batter returned to RCB after bagging a Rs 5.5 crore deal at the mega auction.

Karthik repaid the faith shown in him by RCB as he hit 330 runs in 16 matches at a staggering strike rate of over 180. The Faf du Plessis-led side reached the play-offs and finished 3rd as RCB completed a hat-trick of seasons wherein they made the knockout stages.

Karthik was rewarded for his performances in the IPL as he managed to return to the senior national team for the first time in 3 years for the upcoming 5-match T20I series against South Africa, starting June 9.

"I heard Dinesh Karthik talking with the coach about how RCB and himself should go along with the preparation for the IPL. It showed the results and he evolved as a finisher and hopefully, he will perform well for India too," Kaul said Cricket Mahamanch' a show made to analyze IPL on Koo App.Meanwhile, Siddarth Kaul said he is confident that RCB will be able to build on their good run in IPL 2022 and give themselves a good chance to win the trophy next year."We should enter the field with a positive attitude. We will definitely win the trophy in the coming season," he said.

Kaul played a supporting role for most part of the season and managed just only one game but the senior pacer said it's important that, as professionals, the players are ready to accept challenges.

"A bowler and a player always have to believe in themselves, that is the most important thing. We must learn to accept challenges, challenges make us better," he added.
