Rohit Sharma is the frontrunner to take over India’s T20I captaincy after Virat Kohli steps down from the post at the end of the World Cup in UAE in November.
Former cricketer and ex-chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) selection committee Dilip Vengsarkar has backed fellow Mumbaikar Rohit Sharma to take over the reigns of the Indian T20I team from Virat Kohli after the World Cup.
Kohli will be stepping down as captain of the Indian team from the shortest format after the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates and Rohit is the frontrunner to succeed him after the tournament.
