An 18-year-old was killed by a minor after getting into a fight on March 6 at Yamuna Ghat. Delhi Police received information that a man was declared dead at a Pitampura hospital.
Later, an eyewitness to the fight, Abhishek, registered a complaint and stated that he, along with his friend (deceased) Ramjani, and their friends and relatives went to Yamuna Ghat for immersion of the idol of Goddess Saraswati.
After taking a bath in the Yamuna River while they were returning to their vehicle, they were stopped by a person and asked for the towel from complainant Abhishek.
In denial, he started hitting him. Seeing this, Ramjani slapped that person.
That alleged person fled from the spot and within no time again reached with some of his associates, who started hitting Abhishek and Ramjani. Suddenly, one person took out a knife and stabbed the deceased on his back and they all fled the spot.
During the investigation, a police team put up their best efforts and apprehended the murderer.
Several Saraswati Pooja Groups all over the city were contacted. Around 350 people, who visited Yamuna Ghat during that day, were questioned at length.
