IPL 2021: Delhi Capitals off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Monday said he is taking a break from this year's tournament to support his family and extended family who 'are putting up a fight against Covid-19'. Ashwin played for DC in their win over SRH on Sunday in Chennai.

I would be taking a break from this years IPL from tomorrow. My family and extended family are putting up a fight against #COVID19 and I want to support them during these tough times. I expect to return to play if things go in the right direction. Thank you @DelhiCapitals Ashwin took to social media to announce his decision and added that he would return to play for Delhi Capitals "if things go in the right direction. "I would be taking a break from this years IPL from tomorrow. My family and extended family are putting up a fight against #COVID19 and I want to support them during these tough times.
