India is all set to witness a record number of initial public offerings in 2021 with major companies like Zomato and Paytm lining up to go public. Here's why so many companies are going public this year.

Several companies, ranging from tech start-ups to chemical manufacturing firms and restaurant chains, have gone public in 2021. And, more firms are expected to take the initial public offering (IPO) route to get listed on domestic stock markets later this year. Investment bankers tracking IPOs suggest that it will be a record year for fundraising. Thirty companies have already filed IPO papers to raise Rs 55,000 crore and at least 10-15 more are lined up to initiate the process to go public and raise another Rs 25,000 crore. More companies are expected to go public later this year.
