The decayed corpse of a Tamil Nadu man was recovered eight days after he went missing on February 2.
A 32-year-old man, Ram Kumar, visited Kodaikanal along with his friends on February 2. The group had entered the Red Rock cliff spot, which was not allowed by the authorities as it was an extremely dangerous spot.
After entering the restricted area, Ramkumar slipped while trying to take a selfie from the top of the cliff. He was reported missing by his friends.
Forest officials, police, along with a mountain climbing crew, extended a search in the area for six days. They were unable to find Ramkumar due to the extremely rough terrain.

The search party, comprising 30 men, were also using drones to find the missing man. Finally, a piece of cloth worn by Ramkumar was found almost 1,400 ft below Red Rock cliff two days ago.
The crew reached the spot and unfortunately found Ramkumar’s decayed corpse between crevices. With great difficulty, the crew recovered Ramkumar’s body and wrapped it in plastic sheets. Since it became dark, the crew had to leave the spot and return the next day.
