Days after sacking Panneerselvam, AIADMK expels his son, others

Days after removing senior leader Panneerselvam, Palaniswami-led AIADMK on Thursday expelled OPS's son and several others from the party.
All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) interim general secretary E Palaniswami, days after sacking senior leader O Panneerselvam, has removed all his supporters from the party. Those removed include OPS' son and MP Ravindranath.
EPS, who has taken control of the party, has removed all supporters of OPS from the primary membership of the party. OPS and his faction had opposed the abolition of the dual leadership model in which EPS and OPS shared the leadership responsibilities and co-coordinator and coordinator respectively.
Those removed include OPS' son Ravindranath, ex-MLA Venkatraman, ex-MP Gopalakrishna, Vellamandi Natarajan, Jaya Pradeep, Marudhu Alaguraj, Syed Khan among others.
The AIADMK on Monday elected EPS as its interim general secretary and also expelled OPS from the party's primary membership for allegedly acting against its interests.

EPS also accused OPS of colluding with DMK, storming party HQ and taking away documents with the help of state police.
"OPS took away party belongings from the office, in league with the DMK government. Several workers were injured protecting the party HQ from anti-social elements," he said.
