David Copperfield will be taking his illusions elsewhere. Here's what to know about his last show at MGM Grand.
David Copperfield will be taking his illusions elsewhere.
After 25 years of serving as MGM Grand's headlining act in Las Vegas, Copperfield's residency is ending, the luxury hotel confirmed in a March 5 statement obtained by USA TODAY.
Copperfield's name previously came up in a rolling batch of court documents that were unsealed as part of a lawsuit tied to disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The reasoning behind MGM's decision to cut Copperfield loose wasn't immediately clear. USA TODAY asked MGM for an explanation, but as of March 6, the venue has not responded.
"We thank David and his exceptional team for the incredible energy they’ve consistently delivered with this larger-than-life production," Mike Neubecker, president & COO of MGM Grand, said in a statement. "David has fascinated audiences at MGM Grand for more than 25 years, and we wish him every success as he embarks on the next chapter of his journey."
