Cyclonic storm Jawad is likely to hit the Andhra Pradesh-Odisha coast on the morning of December 4, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said. In view of this, the two state governments have ramped up preparation to deal with the calamity.
The IMD on Thursday said a low pressure area formed over the South Andaman Sea is going to build-up into a cyclonic storm in the next 36 hours. The low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea is likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a depression over southeast Bay of Bengal during the next 12 hours. It would further intensify into a cyclonic storm over Central Bay of Bengal during the subsequent 24 hours, the IMD said.
