CSK vs GT: David Miller gives him the best chance to perform while finishing matches - No point giving your wicket away

David Miller has been one of the leading run-scorers for the Gujarat Titans (GT), led by Hardik Pandya, in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Gujarat Titans (GT) batter David Miller said that he has learned a whole lot in his career when it’s about finishing off matches for his team. The left-handed batter has been on the cricketing circuit for more than 12 years and has played a number of match-winning knocks for his sides. The 32-year-old South African is currently plying his trade in the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) and has done exceptionally.

After representing the Kings XI Punjab, now Punjab Kings, Miller went to the Titans, captained by all-rounder Hardik Pandya. The southpaw has arguably been the standout batter for GT, having scored 332 runs in his first 12 games at an average of 55.33 and a strike rate of 141.27.

The Natal-born Miller said that he has learned not to throw away his wicket and rather, wait for the right moments to play shots in crunch moments.

“You live and you learn is the first lesson, you make many, many mistakes over your career, but I think it is just about being in the moment and really giving yourself the best chance to actually perform, no point giving your wicket away early doors,” Miller was quoted as saying.

“You can’t score runs watching from the sidelines. For me particularly, it is about giving myself the best chance and, at the end, we’ve seen many times in this game, anything is possible to chase down,” he added.

Miller has played some handy cameos and notched his top score of an unbeaten 94 against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 17 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Miller has also been a crucial member of the Proteas after making his debut way back in 2010.
