Charlie Sykes also warned of what may happen if and when the legislation has been passed.
President Donald Trump’s so-called Big, Beautiful Bill is the “mother of all crap sandwiches” and Republican lawmakers have no choice but to eat it all up, conservative commentator Charlie Sykes said on Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Deadline: White House.”
“One of the reasons they are so glum is that in a normal legislative process, you would be able to vote against things that you regarded as horrible ideas,” Sykes explained.
But “because this 900-page bill is must-pass in Trump world,” he continued, “they have to swallow everything and they know what it’s going to be like going out and trying to explain these massive cuts in health care, pushing millions of people off health care, raising taxes on various industries.”
Sykes also warned of what may happen once the legislation has been passed.
Trump has placed an artificial deadline of July Fourth to get the bill onto his desk to be signed.
