Congress says Ahmedabad resolution a battle cry to defend democracy, asks cadre to take it to every home

Congress launches "Nyay Path" resolution, aims to spread message of democracy and inclusive development across India through structured campaign.

Following up on the Ahmedabad session of the All India Congress Committee, the party on Saturday (April 12, 2025) asked its cadre to take its “Nyay Path” resolution to every household in the country.

The party also named 183 observers for Gujarat under the “Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan”, a campaign to build its organisation in the State, which has been a BJP bastion for three decades now.

In a letter to all the chiefs of Pradesh Congress Committees (PCCs) and District Congress Committees (DCCs), frontal units and other office-bearers, AICC general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal termed the resolution “a battle cry for the defence of India’s democracy, dignity, and diversity”.

He said the Ahmedabad resolution was a visionary articulation of the Congress’s ideological compass, policy direction, and unwavering commitment to the values of the Constitution, democracy, and inclusive development.

“Let us rise to the occasion and ensure that its message echoes in every street, town, and village of our country,” Mr. Venugopal said, adding, “It is imperative that this resolution is not only understood and absorbed at all levels of our organisation but also communicated effectively to the people of India. To this end, the AICC has decided to launch a time-bound and structured campaign”.

Mr. Venugopal called for an internal mobilisation of DCC presidents in the first phase, with each PCC asked to hold DCC-level orientation sessions without delay. He also asked State leaders to hold district-level Congress workers’ meetings and convening of a Congress Worker Sammelan.

These sammelans should be inclusive of Block Congress Committee presidents, Booth Committee presidents, and leadership from frontal organisations, such as the Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), and Seva Dal, he added.
