Congress leaders agree to postpone Mekedatu padayatra headed for Bengaluru

In a Congress meeting on Thursday, January 13, senior leaders came to a consensus to drop the Mekedatu padayatra for now and postpone it. The padayatra was scheduled to enter Bengaluru city tomorrow.
Congress leaders, at a meeting in Karnataka’s Ramanagara city on Thursday, January 13, decided to drop the Mekedatu padayatra which was supposed to enter Bengaluru city tomorrow. They said that it would be postponed to a future date.
Congress leader Siddaramaiah has said that they are concerned about the health of people in Karnataka. He added that it was their responsibility to ensure that the padayatra did not lead to more cases. He confirmed that the padayatra would resume once the third wave is over.
