Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister emphasizes the importance of effective communication skills at TAPMI graduation ceremony.
Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav on Saturday, April 12, said communication is not merely about getting one’s viewpoint across; it is about the opportunity to influence the other person, to see one’s point of view and to accept it.
An alumnus of the 1985-87 batch of T.A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), Manipal, he was speaking at the 39th graduation ceremony of his alma mater at Manipal. Reminiscing his days at Manipal as a student, he asked students to build their own professional and social networks, investing time and effort in cultivating the relationships.
“In my own career, effective communication has played a very crucial role in helping me to stand out from my colleagues and opened up opportunities to lead the legislative and public sphere. It enables you to express your ideas no matter how complex, in the simplest ways possible.”
Mr. Keshav further said graduation was not the end of learning; but the beginning. “You have great opportunities coming your way. You will also confront many challenges. There’s no play-book or guide you have to find your way,” he said.
Sharad Agarwal, Chief Business Officer, Classic Legends, Mumbai and an alumnus of the 1999-2001 batch said, “You are now stepping into a world of endless possibilities and you are now also a part of a very exclusive network of alumni who have gone on to achieve great things across sectors, across industries and across the globe.”
A total of 524 students in the 2023-25 batch graduated, with 347 from core MBA, 59 from MBA (Banking and Financial Services), 43 from MBA (Human Resources Management), 50 from MBA (Marketing) and 25 students from MBA (International Business). MAHE Pro Chancellor H S Ballal, Vice Chancellor Lt. General M.D. Venkatesh,Pro-Vice Chancellor Madhu Veeraraghavan, TAPMI Director Rajeev Kumra and others were present.
