Colts bench ‘tired’ Anthony Richardson for Joe Flacco in QB shocker
NY Post
The Colts are tired of Anthony Richardson.
Indianapolis is benching the No. 4 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft for veteran Joe Flacco following a much-scrutinized performance in Week 8 against the Texans, according to ESPN.
The Colts (4-4) are in the playoff race and clearly believe Flacco, 39, gives them the better chance to compete this year, starting with Sunday’s prime-time road game against the Vikings.
Richardson, 22, is coming off a dreadful 10-for-32 performance in a 23-20 loss to the Texans in Week 8 that included him asking out for one play because he felt “tired.”
The second-year quarterback told reporters he removed himself from the game in the third quarter while facing a third-and-goal at the Texans’ 23-yard line since he felt “tired, ain’t gonna lie.”
Richardson had run a decent amount of the previous play while being sacked.

Almost a year to the day after a goaltender interference call against Kyle Palmieri lost the Islanders a game against the Blue Jackets that started their season’s death spiral, they were on the wrong end of another controversial call against those same Blue Jackets that might have had the same effect.

SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.
