Chennai soccer club owner dupes members, flees with Rs 2.15 crore, arrested in Bengaluru

R Naveen, who runs Bharat Bengaluru Football Club at Chennai’s KK Nagar, told his customers that he could get SUVs at a 30 percent discount. He got Rs 2.15 crores from the members and duped them by going into hiding.

The Central Crime Branch arrested a private football club owner from Bengaluru for duping members to the tune of Rs 2.15 crore. He had promised members to get new SUV cars with a thirty percent discount.

According to a report by DT Next, R Naveen runs Bharat Bengaluru Football Club in Chennai’s KK Nagar area. He allegedly told his customers that an automotive brand offered to give SUVs at a 30 per cent discount to the club members.

Believing him, members together booked a total of 19 cars and paid Naveen Rs 2.15 crore.

But, Naveen did not deliver on his promise and went into hiding. One of the members, Kumaravadivel, approached the police and registered a case against Naveen.

Police secured Naveen from Bengaluru and remanded him in judicial custody.
