Chennai on Thursday reported 909 new Covid-19 cases while the state's active caseload increased to 11,094.
Nearing the 1,000-mark, Chennai reported 909 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday. Among the fresh cases, Chengalpattu accounted for 352 infections, followed by Tiruvallur (100) and Coimbatore (96).
Meanwhile, the daily count breached the 2000-mark in Tamil Nadu with 2,069 new Covid cases.
As many as 2,069 fresh Covid-19 cases were reported in Tamil Nadu on Thursday, taking the tally so far to 34,75,185. The state's active caseload increased to 11,094 against 10,033 recorded on Wednesday. Meanwhile, with no fatality, the death toll remained at 38,026.
On the recovery front, 1,008 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 34,26,065.
