
Charges laid in fatal hit-and-run in east London

London police have charged a 32-year old man in connection to a collision on Nov. 10 that killed a 37-year old woman and injured a second person as they were out walking in the area of Spruce Street near Wavell Street.
Police were called to the scene at 9:40 p.m. on that Wednesday night. The victim, Sarah Courtney Dixon, was rushed to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The vehicle involved in the collision was described as a newer-style silver sedan, last seen travelling southbound on Spruce Street.
Police issued a public plea for information about the collision, including anyone who may have had dash-cam video or security footage of the incident. There's no word on what evidence led to an arrest.
A 32-year old man has now been charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing death and public mischief.
He is due in court Feb. 7, 2022

Bill Dennis, who criticized city spending on a new mural by Indigenous artist Kennady Osborne as “virtue signalling by woke politicians” — then made a series of comments in response to a reply from Aamjiwnaang Chief Janelle Nahmabin that some have characterized as unprofessional and aggressive.
