Centre is likely to take disciplinary action against Bengal Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay if he fails to report to Delhi after being summoned by the DoPT.
Another showdown between the Centre and Bengal may be on the cards as West Bengal Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay stayed back in the state on Monday, the day he was asked to report to Delhi. Sources said that the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) will initiate action against Alapan Bandyopadhyay if he fails to report to Delhi at 10 am on Monday. Meanwhile on Monday morning, CM Mamata Banerjee wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked him to 'rescind' the order requiring Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay to report to New Delhi. Mamata Banerjee has said she is shocked and stunned by the unilateral order of the central government.More Related News
