India Today
The CBSE Class 10 Maths Basic paper is rated moderate by teachers, with lengthy MCQs, easy case studies and one tricky circles question that tests higher-order thinking and practical application skills.
The CBSE Class 10 Mathematics – Basic paper has been described as moderate in difficulty, with a clear focus on concepts and application rather than rote learning.
Sharing feedback on behalf of Modern English School, Guwahati, Tanmoy Das, PGT Mathematics, said the paper struck a fair balance between basics and thinking-based questions.
“The recent Basic Mathematics Examination is generally perceived as being of a moderate difficulty level, offering a fair balance between foundational concepts and critical thinking,” he said.
While the overall structure of the paper felt familiar, the Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) demanded extra attention. According to Das, these were “notably lengthy”.
Students had to spend more time reading and calculating before choosing the correct option. These were not the kind of questions one could answer at a glance. They required careful analysis and a clear understanding of concepts.
In contrast, the case study-based questions came as a relief. They were clear and straight to the point.
